Arlow Burdette Stout (1876-1957) research botanist and geneticist served as Director of Laboratories, Curator of Education and Curator of Laboratories at the New York Botanical Garden, 1911-1947. He was known for his experiments in plant genetics, especially relating to processes of self-sterility and seed reproduction in flowering plants.
